Royal AM’s Andile Mpisane and Shauwn Mkhize have been charged by the PSL for what they did on Sunday night. This followed a derby day win against Maritzburg United in the DSTV Premiership.
Twihli Twahla secured a 2-1 victory over The Team of Choice on Sunday night. This derby win was their fourth successive league win.
After the victory, the Royal AM hierarchy stormed onto the football pitch, as per usual. However, this time they were seen carrying brown envelopes.
The brown envelopes had wads of cash, in R200’s, which were handed to the players. They were visibly uncomfortable with receiving their bonuses in such a manner.
“The charges that were laid relate to the incident which has been seen on social media with club officials coming on the pitch with bags of money and then distributing it among the players on the pitch,” PSL Prosecutor Nande Becker told iDiski Times.
“The club has been charged; the officials involved have also been charged (for handing out the money). The club has also been charged for failing to provide adequate security in that it allowed a pitch intrusion or invasion after the match.
“The club has also been charged with the players not leaving their changing room timorously to start the match. And I think the final one was they had ten match balls and said it was eleven match balls.
“The club’s COVID-19 officer has also been charged because he failed to ensure that club officials wore protective masks at all necessary times.” He confirmed.
Mpisane and Mkhize were also charged individually. Royal AM Charged by PSL For Giving Players Bonuses on Live TV!
