Bafana Bafana lost 2-0 to Sudan in their penultimate AFCON Qualifier on Sunday evening. This was a devastating defeat as it resulted in Sudan taking second spot in the group.

SAFA CEO Tebogo Motlanthe confirmed this sacking.
“The National Executive Committee has sincerely apologised,” Motlanthe said at live press conference.
“And the National Executive Committee had said that they will sit around again and come with strategies on how to deal with (going forward).”
“The NEC undertook a process last night, to decide on the way forward with the coach and what happens to the coach. And by 10 o’clock today the NEC had responded, in favour of parting ways with the coach, but there are still administrative issues which need to be attended to.”
SAFA also confirmed that they have not line up any replacements as yet. They have not shortlisted any candidates at the moment.
