Samuel Eto′o Denies Rescuing Cameroonian ‘Slaves’ From Libya! A story about Eto′o rescuing his countrymen from being enslaved in Lybia has been making rounds on all social media platforms with some big celebs even sharing it.
Samuel Eto’o singlehandedly paid for flights to take the Cameroonian migrants stuck & tortured in Libya back to their home country.
Let’s not also forget the role he played in fighting for Nigerians against Boko Haram ??? pic.twitter.com/Xdt7roYEYE— Idah Waringa (@IdahWaringa) November 28, 2017
Turns out the story is fake news. Eto′o himself has denied that this is true. Taking to Facebook, the former Chelsea star set the record straight.
“Several sites have circulated a rumor that I would have given money to every migrant returnee, in relation to a topical issue. This rumor is absolutely unfounded! I would therefore take advantage of this opportunity, dear brothers and sisters, to emphasize that love prevents more evils than money can solve,” he wrote on his verified Facebook page.
