Seema Delivers Verdict on Katlego Otladisa’s Sekhukhune Debut

Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has shared his thoughts on the debut performance of new signing Katlego Otladisa, who joined the team on loan from Orlando Pirates.

In Sunday’s match against Polokwane City, Babina Noko managed to secure a 1-1 draw, coming from behind after Raymond Daniels put the hosts ahead in the first half. Tresor Yamba Yamba equalized for Sekhukhune four minutes before halftime, ensuring his team remains in fourth place in the Betway Premiership standings.

Otladisa’s First Start

The match marked Katlego Otladisa’s first appearance for Sekhukhune United since completing his loan move from the Buccaneers. The 28-year-old, who had yet to make an appearance for Orlando Pirates this season, was given a starting role by Seema and played the full 90 minutes.

Speaking after the match, Seema praised Otladisa’s contribution, acknowledging his quality and potential despite his lack of game-time this season.

“He is a player that everyone knows,” Seema said. “He is still trying to understand the way we do things, but for him to start today shows that he has the experience and quality we really want to use because we know what he can do.

“We saw he had some good moments, having not played after a long time. We are happy with his contribution.”

Other Notable Performances

Seema also highlighted the debut of Elias Ramala, who played in an unfamiliar position but managed to adapt well to the demands of the game.

“You can mention Elias Ramala as well,” Seema added. “He played today, his first game as well, in an unfamiliar position for that matter.”

Looking Ahead

The draw leaves Sekhukhune five points behind third-placed Polokwane City, but Babina Noko has three games in hand, keeping their hopes alive for a strong finish to the season.

Next, Sekhukhune United will face AmaZulu FC in an away fixture at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday, January 8. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30.

With Otladisa and other players integrating into the team, Seema will be looking to build momentum and maintain Sekhukhune’s position in the top four.
