Sekhukhune United Reportedly Cut Ties with Sipho Mbule After Alleged Misconduct

Sipho Mbule’s tumultuous spell at Sekhukhune United appears to have come to an abrupt end, with reports emerging that the club has parted ways with the midfielder following an alleged incident of misconduct.

Once considered one of South Africa’s brightest midfield talents, Mbule’s career trajectory has taken yet another dip. The 26-year-old was on loan at Sekhukhune United from Mamelodi Sundowns, a move that was initially viewed as a chance for the player to reignite his form after struggling for game time at Chloorkop.

However, according to insider sources, his time at Babina Noko has been cut short ahead of the loan’s official conclusion due to disciplinary issues.

It is believed that Mbule was previously involved in an incident of ill-discipline directed toward a member of Sekhukhune’s technical team. While the club managed to address that situation internally, another alleged episode has reportedly tipped the balance, prompting the management to sever ties with the player.

A source close to the club confirmed the decision, saying, “Yes, he has left the club. My worry for him is that what will happen to his career.”

The latest development has not only ended any possibility of a permanent move to Sekhukhune but also cast a shadow over Mbule’s future in the South African top flight.

Mbule’s contract with Mamelodi Sundowns is set to expire in June, and reports suggest that the reigning champions are unlikely to exercise their option to extend the deal. This means Mbule could become a free agent in the coming weeks, with his market value and appeal diminished by recent events.

Interestingly, Kaizer Chiefs have previously shown interest in the former SuperSport United playmaker. The Soweto giants have been monitoring his situation for some time as they seek to reinforce their midfield options.

But with the latest reports of misconduct, it remains to be seen whether Amakhosi will still be keen to take a gamble on the talented but troubled player. Chiefs, under increasing scrutiny from fans, may be hesitant to invest in a player whose discipline has come into question.

With his loan deal cut short and his parent club unlikely to retain him, Mbule now faces the reality of rebuilding his reputation and reviving his career elsewhere. At 26, time is still on his side, but any potential suitors will want assurances regarding his commitment and professionalism.

A clean slate and a fresh start may be what the midfielder needs—if he can prove that he has learned from his past and is ready to focus on football once again.
