Senzo Meyiwa’s Family Not Told About The Weapon Used To Murder Him! After 6 long years of probing into Senzo Meyiwa’s sudden death, progress seems to be made. The investigators of the case have found the murder weapon used to kill Senzo Meyiwa.
News 24 reported that investigators have found the alleged 9mm gun used to kill Senzo Meyiwa. They also reported that they have found the individual who allegedly fired the fatal shots.
“News24 can also reveal that the police have identified the man who allegedly fired the shots that killed Meyiwa in October 2014,” it said.
They also reported that the investigating team probed an individual linked to Meyiwa’s murder.
News 24 further reports that the investigators are 100% sure that this is the firearm used to kill Senzo Meyiwa.
Meyiwa’s brother, Sifiso Meyiwa spoke to TimesLIVE on Tuesday (20 October) where he confirmed that the family receives regular updates from the SAPS.
Despite receiving these regular updates, the family had not been informed about this momentous discovery by the investigating team.
“They [police] last updated us a week ago but I can’t get into the details of it because they said it might jeopardise the case. They have never mentioned anything about a gun being found,” Sifiso Meyiwa said.
TimesLIVE also reported that the NPA (National Prosecuting Authority) spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said that a decision to prosecute was still being made.
“Yes, I can confirm that the dockets in the Senzo Meyiwa case were received by end August 2020 and the NPA is currently finalising the decision,” Mahanjana said.
