The Bucs got back to winning ways in the league, in unconvincing fashion. Monnapule Saleng gave the visitors the lead before the halftime break.
Saleng turned provider for striker Terrence Dzvukamanja to double their lead. Tumelo Njoti clawed one goal back for the visitors but couldn’t equalize.
“Well, we had some difficulties in the first half about the positioning of our players, offensively and defensively, then we tried to fix it at halftime.” Almenara told SuperSport TV.
“Then from there we think that the team improved, in order to be more organized and from there it came the possibility of a second goal from a set piece. In the first half also, we think that we had more chances than expected because of the positioning and then we had an individual action.
“So, in our opinion, the performing is ok, but we have to improve much better.” The Spaniard eluded.
Saleng scored for The Bucs just before the first half ended.
“Yes, we can say that it helped us a lot, to reorganize our team with a one goal advantage. So, a goal is always welcome before halftime because of the mental part.
“But at the same team were not happy, we were not happy with the performance because the plan we were trying to develop today was not working, it was not working as much as we wanted.
“We are happy about the performance overall and also the three points are important in order to face the next game with more guaranties and more confidence.”
They face Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby in their next encounter.
“Tough game, that’s it.” He concluded.
