Shaune Mogaila Eager To Play As Many Games As Possible! The tricky winger has recently returned for a spell on the side lines due to injury.
Shaune Mogaila is determined to feature in as may DSTV Premiership games as possible for TS Galaxy. He returns from a 3-month injury lay off sustained earlier this year.
Mogaila has missed an eventful 3 months, which has seen The Rockets climb up to 8th spot.
“My recovery process has gone well. I’m back now and training with the team fully,” Mogaila tells the TS Galaxy website.
“I started my rehab two months ago. I started training with the team in the second week of April.
“It wasn’t full sessions but it was passing drills and then three weeks ago I started training with the team fully, playing 11 v 11 and getting involved.
“Now I’m back with the team. Last week, I travelled with the team to Polokwane,” he states.
TS Galaxy play Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Golden Arrows and Stellenbosch FC. This is one of the tougher groups of games and will need to be at their best to stay in 8th at the end of the season.
“It’s been a long journey that I’ve been through. Some players can have up to nine months of not playing,” he explained.
“For me, it was three months. I had to keep my mind positive at all times.
“I’ve missed being in action. The most important thing is to focus on recovery.”
He will have to face stiff competition if he is to return to the first team.
“Right now, the focus is to get fit again and regain my starting berth in the line-up. I’m working very hard towards that,” said Mogaila.
“There are five games left, I’m optimistic that I’ll get a few minutes under my belt.
“That is my ultimate goal and I’ll be happy if I can fulfil that,”
He hopes to return to game fitness and feature in the remaining matches for TS Galaxy.
“The key in terms of regaining my match fitness is to do extra work and extra training. The games are coming thick and fast.
“There’s not enough time to feature in friendly matches. All I can do is to put extra work on my own so that when the guys are back I can match up to their fitness.
“There’s also not enough time for me to get gain match fitness because the focus is on planning for upcoming matches and there’s plenty of traveling in between,” the winger concludes.
