Sibongiseni Mthethwa To Begin Kaizer Chiefs Training Next Week! Amakhosi added another midfielder to their roster recently.

Kaizer Chiefs announced the signing of Sibongiseni Mthethwa earlier this week. The midfielder will only begin training in the new week.

Amakhosi take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN 8 semifinal second leg this weekend. Ox will not participate as he is cup tied, after appearing with Stellenbosch FC in the tournament.

This means that he will begin training on the 25th of September 2023.

“With only two days of the current transfer window remaining, Kaizer Chiefs have agreed terms to sign Sibongiseni Mthethwa from Stellenbosch FC,” the club announced earlier in the week.

“‘Ox’, as the 29-year-old Bafana international is known, has penned a three-year deal with the Naturena-based outfit that runs until June 2026.

“Before joining Stellenbosch, Mthethwa played for Royal Eagles and Black Leopards. He featured 29 times for Stellenbosch last season, and made his debut for Bafana Bafana in September 2022.” The club communicated.

Club Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr welcomed the midfielder with open arms as well.

“We warmly welcome Sibongiseni Mthethwa to the team,” he told the club media.

“We know he’s a good player with great experience under his belt. We believe that he will hit the ground running and contribute straight away, knowing fully well what is expected of every player that dons the Gold & Black jersey of Amakhosi.

“We look forward to many great performances in the next coming seasons. We would like, once again, to thank Stellenbosch for their professionalism during our negotiations, and we look forward to the continuation of our working well together.”
