Kaizer Chiefs are currently on a FIFA ban. The Amakhosi are barred from signing any players in this transfer window. This means that even if Kaizer Chiefs were interested in acquiring the services of Hlanti, they cannot do anything about it.
Kaizer Chiefs can only provide Sifiso Hlanti with the training facilities he requires to maintain his fitness ahead of the new season. Hlanti was released by TTM alongside former teammate Thabang Monare, Monare is also another player yet to affiliate himself with any club.
Mamelodi Sundows had announced the captures of former Wits players Gift Motupa, Domingo and Ricardo Gosso. Teams like Orlando Pirates, Chippa United and Stellenbosch F.C have also made the most of the players deemed available following Wits’ sale.
Former Wits coach Gavin Hunt would surely have dug into his knowledge of his former players. It’s unfortunate for Hunt that he has to make due with older players like Willard Katsande and Bernard Parker.
The 30 year old has made 162 Premier Soccer League appearances in his career. He’s represented Lamontville Golden Arrows, Thanda Royal Zulu, Amazulu and Bidvest Wits. Hlanti has also made 18 Bafana Bafana appearances. He appeared in all of South Africa’s games at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
