Sifiso Ngobeni has completed a 360 turn as he returns to his hometown of Mamelodi. It is because of this that he feels extremely honoured to represent Sundowns.

His football journey is like many professional players. It took him all over the country.

He gained popularity though in the Free State, playing for Bloemfontein Celtic. His stellar performances saw him selected for the Bafana Bafana squad which won the 2021 COSAFA Cup.

“Being a Mamelodi boy it’s an honour for me to play for a team like Sundowns, the team that I grew up supporting, a team that made me fall in love with football.” Ngobeni told the club media.

“[Mamelodi Sundowns] is a big team, it’s also a way of showing boys from Mamelodi that anything is possible in life if you are disciplined, focused and you believe in your dream, then you can achieve anything. This is a way of showing boys from Mamelodi to not give up on their dreams but [rather] to believe and follow their dreams.” He added.

Ngobeni is very aware that he has joined a star-studded squad. The left back position is already attended to by Lyle Lakay, Tebogo Langerman, Aubrey Modiba and Divine Lunga.
