Siphiwe Tshabalala Says That Chiefs Has Become The Team To Beat
The Kaizer Chiefs player, Siphiwe Tshabalala says that Amakhosi has become the club to beat this season due to their performance from last season. We all know that last season Chiefs broke a lot of records and collected a lot of trophies, from hunters to hunted.
Last season Amakhosi took the Absa Premiership title with 69 points in the 30 games that they played. They managed to beat 15 teams in the PSL league. Captain Shabba feels that Amakhosi’s success has put extra pressure on his club, not only to defend their title but also to keep a close eye on clubs that are seeking for revenge.
“In life when you do well, there are a lot of expectations and challenges and you just have to be strong mentally” he said.
“Last season we were the hunters and this season we are hunted, so we need to be mentally strong, work hard and do our best. It might not happen that we reach 69 points but the focus is to do well and retain the title” he added.
The 30-year-old also explained that as much as they didn’t start on the right foot but they will make up for it.
“We did not start the league on a high but a draw was okay, it’s still a point the we took which will help us going forward”
“This Saturday is our first home game of the season, the spirit good in the term and the morale is high. Everyone is looking forward to the game against Free State Stars” said the captain.
