Golden Arrows Coach Manqoba Mngqithi Hails Velemseni Ndwandwe and Vows to Talk to Hugo Broos

Lamontville Golden Arrows head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has lavished praise on his midfielder Velemseni Ndwandwe, expressing his belief that the player deserves a call-up to the South African national team. Mngqithi, who previously coached Mamelodi Sundowns, has admitted that he attempted to sign Ndwandwe during his tenure with the reigning Premier Soccer League champions.
Speaking after Golden Arrows’ recent fixtures, including their clashes against Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United, Mngqithi highlighted Ndwandwe’s consistent performances and his ability to dictate the midfield. “Velemseni is an exceptional player, and I strongly believe he is national team material,” Mngqithi said. “I will personally reach out to Hugo Broos to ask him to consider giving the boy a chance.”
The Abafana Bes’thende boss emphasized that Ndwandwe possesses qualities that could strengthen Bafana Bafana’s midfield. “He has great vision, technical ability, and a strong work ethic. When I was at Sundowns, we tried to bring him in because he fits into a team that plays progressive football,” he added.
Ndwandwe has been a key figure for Golden Arrows, playing an instrumental role in their league campaign. His recent performances, particularly against top sides like Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United, have further cemented his reputation as one of the most promising midfielders in the PSL.
With Mngqithi’s endorsement, all eyes will be on Hugo Broos and the national team selectors to see if the talented midfielder gets the recognition he deserves on the international stage.
