Ngidi becomes the first and only cricketer to join the sports management agency. He joins the likes of Siya Kolisi and Cheslin Kolbe.

South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi Joins the Roc Nation Family! He joins an esteemed list of high-profile athletes at Jay Z’s sports management agency.

The Chennai Super Kings’ bowler received mass criticism from past Proteas for his strong stance in the Black Lives Matter movement.

This is believed to have been one of the many big reasons for Ngidi’s attraction from Roc Nation. He joins a list of footballers, basketballers, baseballers, etc.

The list includes the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Marcus Rashford, Eric Bailly, and Jordan Lukaku; in addition to Cheslin Kolbe and Siya Kolisi.

Ngidi posted videos on his social media. Roc Nation also announced on their social media.

“I’ve been inspired by everything Roc Nation has done since growing the family in South Africa. I love the vision‚ the culture and everything they stand for. It resonates with me as a person and who I am as a human being‚” Lungi said.

“It is really important to have a dedicated team that helps to reassure me and ensure that every time I go out and play‚ I can perform to the best of my ability and help me grow my career for South Africa a lot further.”

Roc Nation also released a statement on their website.

“Lungi Ngidi is the face of South Africa’s fast-bowling attack. Tall in stature, the right-handed fast seam bowler makes his mark both in the opening and final stages of the game.

“In January 2017, Lungi burst onto the international scene with a Man of the Match performance on his debut Twenty20 against Sri Lanka.

“A year later, he secured a memorable six-for which helped South Africa wrap up the series against India and was named Man of the Match for his bowling figures on his debut Test debut.

“Lungi can reach high speeds of 140s kph and his capabilities caught the eye of Indian Super League giants, Chennai Super Kings, who bought Lungi in January 2018.

“He is currently named South Africa’s 2020 ODI and T20I Cricketer of the Year.
