Nathan Sinkala and Phathutshedzo Nange gave Stellenbosch the lead on occasion. However, goals from Leonardo Castro and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo rescued a point for Amakhosi.

All 4 goals came in a frantic last 20 minutes of the game. This is what Coach Steve Barker wants his team to be better at.

“It is an area we’ve identified – not managing games in the last ten or fifteen minutes well enough, but in some instances the opposition that we have played against have been quality.

“If we can improve that area of our game, I think we’ve shown we are capable of scoring some decent goals.

“Once again a bit disappointing that twice we took the lead and weren’t able to hold out.

“But looking at the game, the second half looked like an entertaining match with some really quality headed goals this evening.

“Got to be proud of the effort again but definitely one or two areas where we need to improve.

“I thought Nathan Sinkala was superb in midfield and could have got the man-of-the-match. It’s just at the back where we’re conceding more goals than we want to.

“We’re still in the hunt to get a top eight finish. Today it was important we didn’t lose to a team that’s in and around us.

“Friday we’ve got AmaZulu at home so we’ve got to get ourselves up for that, get over the disappointment of not getting it over the line.

“In our last five games there has been an improvement from our win over Cape Town City and Baroka and the two games preceding this. Definitely there is more quality in our play. We’re getting where we want to.

“It’s taken a bit longer than we had hoped to get our structures going.

“Really proud of where we’ve come from a few seasons back in the NFD. And I think we’ve shown we are here to stay.” The coach concluded.
