Sundowns look to sail past Pirates!
The much anticipated PSL fixture this weekend is between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates in Loftus Versveld. Sundowns will go into the game coming from a victory over Bloemfontein Celtic; Pirates come from a goalless draw against Platinum Stars.
Sundowns coach speaking to media after the game against Celtic, “We played well; we are warming up our engine to defend our PSL title. We will take each game as it comes and now we look forward to the weekend game against Pirates”. Pirates on the other hand will look to get back to their winning ways after spells of ill-discipline complaints about the players from the acting coach Augusto Palacios and Mushin Ertugral who left the team.
Pirates are still yet to win any silverware this season despite the top scorer Tendai Ndoro keen to provide more goals and win silverware for the sea robbers. However, they have learnt their lesson from the first half of the season and will look to go into the game against Sundowns with discipline and hope to place their name in the hat for the PSL title this season.
Sundowns are on 22 points and Pirates are on 19 points. However, football is unpredictable and stats do not mean anything as each game is different; the best team shall win this fixture.
