SuperSport United Announce New Sponsor

SuperSport United have announced a new sponsor in a deal that will see them partnering for the next three years. The name of the partner is THIRSTI – KZN spring water brand and are expanding into South Africa’s fanatical footballing field.

Already officially partnered with the likes of the Springboks; Blue Bulls Company; Sharks Rugby; Comrades Marathon; Cape Epic, Nedbank Running Club and the THIRSTI AfricanX Trailrun series. This simply means they mean a business in settling in the sports industry.

THIRSTI Managing Director Rob Hoatson says that the club epitomises South African’s love of life and elaborates on the announcement and timing thereof;

“As a brand, the plan wasn’t to announce until the new season. But last night’s crucial 2-0 victory sees the team ride the crest of a wave – and we’re riding right with them!
Their hard work has paid off: The club is professional and passionate with patriotism for a podium finish from pipeline to professional,” he said.

“We believe that our sports sponsorship portfolio is indicative of the THIRSTI brand and the fact that we’re proud of the athlete’s we back, their health and their goals – and that as a brand, we’re behind them through and through.

SuperSport United CEO Stanely Matthews said: “Quality hydration is an absolute essential for prime performance. We’re extremely pleased to partner with a supportive brand that backs South African sport, understands our athlete’s and goes above and beyond to ensure that every player at every level will be rewarded with Mother Nature’s best.”

SuperSport defeated Orlando Pirates with a 2-0 scoreline yesterday denying them an opportunity to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup of next season. Matsatsantsa are currently adversity in terms of their performance this season.

They eventually sacked coach Kaitano Tembo after strings of poor results. Some of the members that were important in the squad are no longer there such as Teboho Mokoena who was transferred to Mamelodi Sundowns in January. Sipho Mbule is also a want-away and will no longer play for United in the upcoming season as per Stanley Matthews.

On the other side, another senior player who’s linked with an exit door is their captain Ronwem Williams who has complained about the issues at the club. He also revealed that he would love to win the league of which he doesn’t foresee United winning it.
