SuperSport United visit Cape Town Spurs in the DSTV Premiership tonight. Midfielder Jesse Donn has expressed the need for caution ahead of the fixture.
The Urban Warriors have recently made changes to their technical and coaching setup. Head coach Shaun Bartlett has been fired and temporarily replaced by Sean Conner and Vasili Manousakis.
They will be hoping to claim their first points of the season after losing seven consecutive games in the DSTV Premiership.
“They have also just parted ways with their coach, leaving the players hungry to prove to the new management that they deserve a spot in the team. All these factors, along with the fact that they have a good group of young and experienced players, will make it a difficult encounter,” Donn told the club media.
Matsatsantsa are not in the mood to hand their opponents their first points of the season.
“We are playing a team that will no doubt be hungry to get a win- their first win of the season. It will be important for us to match them in terms of grit and desire, as desperation often gives teams a different level of energy,” the midfielder added.
“We are also hungry to get back to winning ways in the league after a disappointing result in Port Elizabeth last week. We trust in the team we have and the work we put in on the training ground, and if we are able to match them with fight and energy, I have no doubt that we will secure the three points.” He concluded.
