SuperSport United Searching For Talent!

As it the off-season, SuperSport United scouts won’t be resting searching for new talent with the team looking to identify and nurture their own for the future of Matsatsantsa.

We’ve seen a lot of young stars emerging from the SuperSport’s Academy and went on to even represent the national team including the likes of Kermit Erasmus, Daine Klate, Masibusane Zongo, Tebogo Mokoena, and Sipho Mbule, etc.

The Pretoria-based club usually loses these prolific home-made talents to the big three – Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, and Kaizer Chiefs.

SuperSport recently lost the two stars that they’ve been relying on in the midfield to Sundowns. Mokoena left in January while Mbule departed this past week.

Statement from the club:

SuperSport United FC is a club which always looks for the best talented raw players in the country and give them the opportunity to display their God-given talents at our senior club or Academy.

SuperSport United FC is a club which always looks for the best talented raw players in the country and give them the opportunity to display their God-given talents at our senior club or Academy.

The purpose of this search is to unearth the best players from the regions that we do not get the opportunity to visit, and to promote local South Africans to follow PSL and South African Football.

This talent search is for players born in 2005/2006 who play for the Football Clubs affiliated to the Regions and the LFA’s we will be visiting. These are therefore not open trials.

Matsatsantsa will be working together with the local SAFA LFA’s in the various regions we will be visiting to ensure the smooth process in all activations.

Apart from discovering the best talent, we would also like to make all activations memorable and leave a footprint and legacy in the communities we visit.

For now, we will visit only five Regions for the first Phase:

SAFA Eden – Knysna, Saturday, 10 June 2022

SAFA Overberg – Gansbaai, Friday, 17 June 2022

SAFA Cape Winelands – Paarl, Saturday, 18 June 2022

SAFA Buffalo City – East London, Saturday, 25 June 2022

SAFA Umgungundlovu – Pietermaritzburg, Saturday, 9 July 2022

SuperSport United FC CEO, Stanley Matthews, “We are proud of our long record of finding the raw talented players and polishing them into PSL stars. We are confident that our 2022 Talent Search will unearth a gem or two and we can’t wait to help these gems take their potential to the next level and to realize their dreams.”

“Skeema Matsatsantsa, where stars of tomorrow are developed.”
