Mamelodi Sundowns play against Seychelles minnows La Passe in their CAF preliminary round tonight. They already hold a stellar 7-0 advantage from the first leg.

Despite this, midfielder Sphelele Mkhulise is adamant that they need to maintain their focus and not lose their hunger. These words were also uttered by Manqoba Mngqithi leading up to the match.

“What we want is to come with the same mentality as the last game,” Mkhulise told the media.

“Which is to focus and work hard because we’ve planned for our next games. Marumo Gallants and Orlando Pirates that we will be playing after this.

“It won’t help us to reduce our pace now just because we are leading by 7-0. We still need to continue running, working hard, and scoring goals.

“I was happy to score a goal, to try and be a starting player here I have to listen to the coaches. I have to work hard.

“I have to run, score goals, and assist with goals and that’s what [the coaches] always tell us. They tell us to work hard and stay focused all the time and whenever you get a chance to play, you must be ready.

“It was difficult at first, but I had to work hard and be ready for my chance. I never got discouraged because I know how hard the players are working.

“We are winning our games and I just have to support them.” He added.
