Percy Tau’s Club Brugge Target Europa League Qualification

South Africa and Club Brugge winger Percy Tau’s Belgian club Club Brugge are looking set to reach the UEFA Europa League knockout stages when they face Real Madrid at their home ground, Jan Breydel Stadium in the last game of the group stages today.

Percy Tau is in the match day squad to face Madrid as they will be also be keeping a very close eye on proceedings in Paris where PSG play host to Turkish club Galatasaray.

Brugge will also be aiming for their first win in the group having managed 3 draws and 2 losses and facing experienced European campaigners, Real Madrid is no mean task though goalkeeper Simon Mignolet remains highly hopeful of grinding a result.

“I think we deserved to get a win somewhere along the way in this group. It would be a statement to do that tomorrow against @realmadriden. As always, we want to win at home.” said Brugge goalkeeper Simon Mignolet in a tweet ahead of season defining game.

If Galatasaray lose to Mbappe inspired PSG, then Brugge will progress into the knockouts of the UEFA Europa League , however if the Turkish giants get a draw and the Belgians are beaten by Madrid, then it will come down to goal difference as they will both be on three points (Brugge have -6 and Galatasaray have -8).

Tau’s Brugge need to secure their UEL with a win over Zinedine Zidane’s side tomorrow night so as not to fret over what happens in Paris as a draw or defeat will see them rely on the other game for progression.

It will be historic and monumental for Tau to participate in the Europa League as he would have participated in all of Europe’s premier club competitions in one season.

He surely should be relishing such an outcome as he continues to enjoy his European dream that he would not want to end nightmarishly in front of their home crowd.
