The Football Fraternity Mourns the Death of Johannes “Ryder” Mofokeng! Ryder Mofokeng passed away on the 2nd of January 2021.
He was 68 years old when he passed on.
Ryder Mofokeng is a bonafied Kaizer Chiefs legend. He made over 300 official appearances for Amakhosi in a 15-year spell.
He is the club’s longest serving captain. He also won 25 major honours with the club; 21 of them as the club captain.
His sudden death has been taken with great sadness from the football fraternity.
“Ryder’s loss is unbelievable. Words cannot describe how I feel at this moment.” Club chairman Kaizer Motaung said.
“Ryder was one of us and served the club with distinction as a player and staff member. I wish to thank the Lord for having afforded us the opportunity to share in the life and times of this legend.
“His is the name engraved and cast in stone in the history books of Kaizer Chiefs. He achieved it all as a football legend.
“He won and lifted many trophies for us. I wish at this stage to express my deepest, heartfelt condolences to his family,” a shocked Motaung concluded.
