Luther Singh Leaves Door Open for PSL Return While Thriving in Europe

Bafana Bafana attacker Luther Singh has confirmed that he has not ruled out a return to the Premier Soccer League, even as he continues to shine with Cypriot club AEL Limassol. Since leaving South Africa as a teenager, Singh has built a solid career in Europe, featuring for Portuguese sides SC Braga and Moreirense before moving to Cyprus. The 28-year-old forward acknowledged that there has been interest from PSL clubs but stressed that his current focus remains on achieving his goals abroad.
“I feel like we can be honest about it and yeah, we were in contact. There was contact between me and a few clubs,” Singh told Soccer Laduma. “But I won’t say it’s a door that is closed, because every player has their own goals and desires. Maybe at this time, I’m not done with what I have planned for myself in Europe. I still believe there’s more I can achieve here.”
Singh also praised the growth of the PSL, highlighting its status as one of Africa’s top leagues. “I won’t say the door is closed for South Africa because the league is growing. I know players who have gone back home that I played with in Portugal, and I know the league is one of the best in Africa. There are good clubs, so for me it’s a door that is open like everywhere else in the world.”
While committed to his current contract with Limassol, Singh acknowledged the unpredictability of football careers. “I don’t know what tomorrow may bring, but for now I’m focused on the present. I’m happy where I am, and I have a contract. But the door for South Africa is not closed.”
Singh’s comments underline his professionalism and ambition, showing that while he is thriving in Europe, he remains open to opportunities in his home country. For PSL clubs, his potential return would bring experience, skill, and leadership to the domestic game.
