Top 10 Most Valuable Players in This Season’s CAF Confederation Cup

The CAF Confederation Cup kicks off this weekend, bringing together some of Africa’s strongest teams for continental competition. While it ranks below the CAF Champions League in prestige, the tournament still offers high-level matches and showcases top talent from across the continent.

Moroccan side RS Berkane will not defend their title after qualifying for this season’s Champions League, opening the door for a new champion. Egyptian giants Zamalek and Moroccan powerhouse Wydad AC are considered favourites, while South Africa will be represented by Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC.

Leading the list of the most valuable players is Wydad AC’s marquee signing, Hakim Ziyech. The former Chelsea star has a market value of €3.5 million (R69.3 million) and joins forces with South African standout Thembinkosi Lorch. Ziyech’s creativity and experience will be key for Wydad AC’s campaign.

South African players are well represented among the top 10, with three PSL stars included. Stellenbosch FC duo Devin Titus and Thabo Moloisane both make the list. Titus carries a value of €1.6 million (R31.7 million), while Moloisane is one of six players valued at €1 million (R19.8 million). Their presence highlights the growing quality of South African talent on the continental stage.

Other notable names in the top 10 include Zamalek attacker Omar Faraj, Al Masry’s Mahmoud Hamada, Wydad AC’s Hamza Sakhi, and the Al Ittihad pair Mohamed Zrida and Roger Aholou. These players bring a mix of experience, technical ability, and physicality that could define their teams’ success in the tournament.

As the competition unfolds, these players will be ones to watch. Their performances could play a decisive role in determining who lifts the CAF Confederation Cup trophy this season.
