Kermit Erasmus Pleads with Orlando Pirates Fans to Remain Positive! The Buccaneers could only share the spoils against Usuthu yesterday.

Orlando Pirates drew 1-1 at home to AmaZulu FC in the DSTV Premiership last night. Striker Kermit Erasmus has asked their supporters to remain patient during these times.

It was a match which both sides feel like they could have won. The visitors took the lead through a Siphesihle Maduna penalty, after Richard Ofori fouled Lehlohonolo Majoro in the box.

Erasmus’ strike hit the post and ricocheted off Veli Mothwa to level the scores just before halftime. The goalkeeper with an unwanted own goal.

Defender Nkosinathi Sibisi saw his penalty saved by Veli Mothwa in the second half.

“I think we started a bit slow today,” he told the Orlando Pirates media.  

“There was a bit of miscommunication in the way that we needed to press. But we corrected it after 20 minutes, and we tried to get an early goal, but you know with the incident that happened between our goalkeeper and [Lehlohonolo] Majoro, it set us a bit back.

“The ref gave a penalty which I didn’t think was one. But then we regrouped, and we kept on going.

“I managed to get on the scoresheet, my first goal since I’m back. So, for me that’s a good positive and you know it’s a difficult one to take [only] a draw with the chances we created.

“But we must stay positive. We need the support from the fans to cheer us on and not to be negative.

“Just to keep motivating us because they’re the 12^th man for us on the field. Its important for them to keep on motivating us.

“Thing will change around; we just need a little it more time.” He spoke.
