Top 5 most skillful players locally.
South has throughout the generations been blessed with players that were able to do magic with the ball. Such players are revered and respected in our domestic football fraternity.
They are the crowd pleasers, every time they are on the ball the crowd gets very ecstatic expecting a “tsamaya” or a “shibobo”.
Emmanuel Asanda “Scara” Ngobese.
The late Ngobese could do anything with the ball. Kaizer Chiefs fans adored him very much, played his best football under Ted Dimitru helping the team clinch title after title.
Junior Khanye.
Another one who played under Ted Dimitru, Khanye was absolutely amazing on the ball. He stood out in every sense, from his hairstyle to his dribbling antics. Mbesuma benefited a lot from Khanye’s assists.
Jabu Pule.
Kaizer Chiefs prodigal son Jabu “Shuffle” Pule was during his playing days probably the best player in South Africa. Shibobo’s and the works were his daily bread.
Masibusane Zongo.
Came into the scene from Supersports youth academy and amazed us with magical skills on the ball. However his antics soon ran out of favour with Gavin Hunt and he got the boot.
Lebohang Mokoena.
Part of a generation of Pirates players that were very amazing, but did not lift any trophies. Every time he was on the ball the crowd would scream “cheeeeeeese”.
We love such players in South Africa, however what they have in common is that their careers end(ed) prematurely. Of the field antics hamper their careers thus leading to short careers.
