This follows a fairly turbulent first season in the DSTV Premiership. Chairman Abraham Sello says that their new name resembles the type of season they had in the PSL.
In a media event hosted at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, the Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila was officially closed and buried.
Chairman Abraham Sello says that their final DSTV Premiership game against Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium on the 5th of June offered them the opportunity to start afresh.
Sello took over TTM earlier this year, after horrid mismanagement of the football club. When he took over, Tshakhuma were destined for relegation.
Players consistently complained about the lack of full salaries paid.
Mr Sello changed all of that when he took over. He hired a new technical team in the form of Mpho Maleka, David Mathebula and Dylan Kerr.
These three men steered TTM away from relegation and into a somewhat comfortable 12th spot. Their highlight without any doubt was winning their first ever trophy as a club in winning the Nedbank Cup in May.
Now operating as Marumo Gallants FC, they have promised to fight for the biggest honours. The club has vowed to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates for the biggest honours in South African football.
