Tsichlas Family Remembers the Late Alex Shakoane! The death of the icon has sent shockwaves across the football fraternity.

Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed the passing of their long serving Communications Manager over the weekend. The Tsichlas family has since paid tribute to the life of Shakoane.

Goldfingers has been involved with the Brazilians since their establishment in the 1970’s. when the Tsichlas family took over the club, they found him there and quickly noticed how vital he is to their growth.

“My family and Alex have a very long history in football, he was a very important person in the development of Mamelodi Sundowns and football in general,” Natasha Tsichlas, who is now SAFA Vice-President, told the SAFA media.

“Alex was a character of note, with beautiful style and his positive outlook on life.

“When my family took over at Mamelodi Sundowns we identified Alex as someone we need to ensure that we had the support of the community. He played such a huge role in growing Sundowns as a brand that we made him a director at the club, and his passion showed in everything he touched with his “Gold fingers.

“I want to express my deepest condolences to the Shakoane family, the passionate supporters of Mamelodi Sundowns and the whole football fraternity. We have indeed lost a great individual.” She concluded.
