Kaizer Chiefs and Nasreddine Nabi Part Ways, Technical Team to Take Over

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that head coach Nasreddine Nabi has left the club by mutual consent. Nabi, who joined the Soweto giants at the start of last season, has been absent from the bench in recent weeks.
The club announced on Friday that Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze will lead the technical team for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
Nabi’s departure comes after a turbulent season at Naturena. The Belgian coach was notably absent during Chiefs’ Carling Knockout match against Stellenbosch in Egypt over the weekend, a fixture that saw the club eliminated from the competition.
While the exact reasons for Nabi’s exit remain unclear, reports suggest that differences between the coach and the club accumulated over the season, impacting their working relationship.
Despite the challenges, Nabi’s tenure at Chiefs had significant highlights. He was in charge when Amakhosi ended a 10-year trophy drought, defeating Orlando Pirates in the final at Moses Mabhida Stadium in June.
However, league performance under Nabi was disappointing. Chiefs finished ninth on the log table, far below expectations. During his time at the helm, Nabi oversaw 35 matches, winning 12, drawing nine, and losing 14.
The club now turns to Ben Youssef and Kaze to stabilise the team and guide them through the remainder of the season, with fans hopeful for improved performances and a return to consistency in domestic competitions.
