Vina Maphosa Confirms Arthur Zwane Will NOT Be Fired! This follows widespread rumours suggesting otherwise.

It had been widely reported that Kaizer Chiefs were strongly considering the sacking of Arthur Zwane. However, communications manager Vina Maphosa confirmed that this is not true.

Amakhosi lost 1-0 to SuperSport United last weekend. This ensured that they will not participate in continental football next season, unlike their rivals.

The weekend before, Chiefs lost to Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup, condemning them to another trophyless season. The Amakhosi faithful has become visibly disgruntled with Mangethe as they violently attacked the coach after losing over the past weekend.

“As things stand Arthur Zwane remains coach of Kaizer Chiefs,” Maphosa told Thabiso Mosia on Radio 2000 earlier in the week.

“We’re not even at this stage contemplating changing.

“There is a lot of investment in what we’re trying to do, and part of that investment is on coach Arthur Zwane himself.

“Also, just to mention that coach Arthur Zwane is not isolated in this discussion. We as a club we are one in this matter.

“We talk with one voice.

“We’re not here to protect the coach. The coach is doing his job.

“He’s contracted to the club, and he was appointed for a particular reason.

“In no time, the supporters will see exactly what we’re intend to do. I can confirm as well as they are very soon, we’ll be back to the glory days.”
