Lyle Foster signed for Burnley FC in the January transfer window. Despite not finding the back of the net so far, head coach Vincent Kompany is still confident in his new acquisition.
The former Orlando Pirates striker has played in eight matches for The Clarets. He has not scored in this period.
He squandered a one-on-one opportunity in their last match as they defeated Fleetwood Town in the F.A Cup. As a result, the fans have started to get restless as they question when he will score his first goal for the club.
“I think in terms of tools, remember that all the players that we bought were players we bought them on tools rather than a proven record, because we couldn’t afford them otherwise,” Kompany told the press, as per FARPost.
“He [Foster] has all the tools. He is able to receive the ball in between the lines, he’s got decent speed to run in behind.
“And as well, he is strong in contact, he can run, meaning if we don’t have the ball, it won’t weaken us in a press. I said it before he came that we are really happy with the striker we have.
“So, all he has to do now literally, is just blend his way in and then he will have his moment. And when he has his moment, then he will have the momentum.
“But I am pleased with the tools I have seen so far, because I know what kind of these players can become. When they are young, it’s all about the work you do in training.” The Belgian spoke.
