Watch! Why Childhood Friends Ferdinand And Lampard Stopped Talking
Watch! Why Childhood Friends Ferdinand And Lampard Stopped Talking! English football legends from the golden era Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand were best friends in their early careers from the ages 16 to 21.
The two shared rooms, played together and pretty much did everything together according to Rio. As both their career took off, joining rival teams, they two grew apart and Ferdinand recently explained why.
“That there is what set us back (as a national team). Not being able to separate our club ties and our international ties,” Rio explained.
“When I went to United and he went to Chelsea, we stopped talking, never spoke about it, we just stopped talking.” Ferdinand says they both didn’t hate each other but they didn’t want the other anything that they’d take back to their clubs.
After writing about it in his book, Rio says he sent a copy to Lampard who told him he’d have said the same thing about him. Now that both stars have reached the end of their careers, they are hanging out again.
