Watch! Janine Van Wyk Leads Overseas Ex Teammate In The SA Tour

Janine Van Wyk has been traveling the world since she began her football career and the last place she experienced being a citizen of was Scotland when she played for Glasgow City.

Her former teammate Julia Molin who is from Sweeden visited South Africa recently and it appears she has never been to the African continent as a whole. We all know the coolest Van Wyk, she may never have studied tourism in varsity but did all she could to show Molin how SA is.

Van Wyk has been the wall of Banyana Banyana for years and at the age of 35 years, she is still going strong. If she gets a call-up for the Africa Women Cup of Nations in July, she will perhaps have her last opportunity to lift the continental cup with Banyana.

Van Wyk who was born in Alberton, Gauteng started her career at Moroka Swallows before she moved to Palace Super Falcons. In 2012, Van Wyk formed her own club called Janine Van Wyk FC which is widely known as JVW FC. Since 2013, the club has been affiliated with the South African Football Association. The club now competes in the Hollywoodbets Super – the highest level of women’s football in SA.

In 2016, she moved to United States of America where she signed for a club called Houston Dash and was later joined by Linda Motlhalo and Thembi Kgatlana who are also Banyana stars. In 2019 she came back home to her club before she moved abroad again to Fortuna Hjørring in Denmark.
