Watch! Lebese launches a new groove place

The former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns George Lebese saw his career becoming somewhat sour these past few years. He left Chiefs in 2017 to join Downs, however, it didn’t go well.

Then he was loaned to SuperSport United before he signed for Switchbacks in the United States of America. With COVID 19 challenges, he came back home.

Now, he hasn’t confirmed whether he’ll still play or he’s retiring. But one thing he has done is to get into the business – a cool business, as he just launched his groove place this past weekend.

Besides this club, Lebese has a clothing line that he started last year, joining the likes Morgan Gould and Lehlohonolo Majoro. “Clothing Line Dropping Soon, Excited,” he wrote on Instagram.

In the Grand Opening this past Saturday, Lamiez Holworthy, DJ Fresh, Shaun Stylist, and Twinz were all in the mix.

“GL17” follows the footsteps of European footballers who have restaurant/Bar businesses like Lionel Messi, Rio Ferdinand, Christiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and etc.

PSL recently launched a programme that will assist players in planning for life after football. Just like what Lebese and other businessmen footballers do.

“The great majority of football players take up football as their one and only career from as early as the age of 8. The Player Transition Program aims to prepare professional players for life after 35 years of age and helps to keep them within football,” said Dr. Irvin Khoza.

“Since the inception of the Multichoice Diski Challenge, we have prided ourselves on providing development in our football on and off the pitch and today is testament to that”, he said.

“We are deepening our commitment to football with a multi-faceted approach to player life skills and educational programs. Today we have a lot of players who are playing in the premiership who have also been through these programmes and are testament to the good work done by the PSL,” he further explained.
