“We Welcome Him” – Dr Kaizer Motaung on Edson Castillo! Amakhosi facilitated the arrival of their brand-new midfielder.

Venezuela international Edson Castillo has recently signed for Kaizer Chiefs. Club chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung has given him a warm welcome at the club.

Amakhosi announced the signing of Castillo last week, alongside five other players. He could only arrive in the country to join his teammates this past weekend.

Upon arrival, he was welcomed by the club chairman.

“We welcome him,” the Dr Motaung told the club media.  

“We brought him here because of the talent that we saw, and we hope that he can be happy here and also make history here in Africa. I have played with players from South America when I was Atlanta (Chiefs) in America and they were all good people, so I know exactly what we can expect from him.”

“We won’t put too much pressure on him. He must feel free, he must feel like he is with family.

“He must feel comfortable around anybody here. I wish him a very good journey with us.” He stated.

Castillo will hope to help Amakhosi end their barren 8-year spell without a trophy. In addition, the club’s fanbase is seeking to compete with their rivals Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
