‘We will not be paying R32million for player Oupa Manyisa’, says Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns has shut down rumors that the club will pay R32million to secure Orlando Pirates’ midfielder Oupa Manyisa’s move to the club. The 26year old move to Sundowns has made known to the media by his agent repeatedly saying the transfer will be complete this month.
Sundowns head of communications Joe Latakgomo said in a statement agents are trying to promote themselves and as a club they are forced to answer questions. “First of all in which country do you have agents who make transfer announcements? This is the only country” he said. “If a German Club T.S.G. Hoffenheim paid R15million for Knowledge Musona, how can people think Sundowns will pay R32million for a player?” He went on to say that these false reports about players’ earnings can end up affecting them and their careers.
“Our official stance is that we sign or release a player, will release a statement. If we respond to all the players linked with Sundowns then we will be in the media every day.”
