Xola Mlambo Joins Amazulu On A Long Term Contract! The 29-year-old joins AmaZulu on a free transfer after being released by Orlando Pirates. He is AmaZulu’s 11th signing of the new PSL season.
Xola Mlambo joins 10 new players at AmaZulu for the new season. Mlambo was one of 8 players released by Orlando Pirates in the close window.
He had been rumoured to have received a lot of bids, with Mlambo privy to electing the pick of the bunch.
Mlambo joins former Orlando Pirates players Augustine Mulenga, Luvuyo Memela, Thembela Sikhakhane, Mbongeni Gumede and Siphelele Mthembu at AmaZulu.
They are also joined by PSL legend Siphiwe Tshabalala. Mlambo was announced this afternoon on AmaZulu’s Twitter page.
Usuthu played out to a 1-1 draw at home to Orlando Pirates over the weekend. Ayanda Dlamini’s side have added more technical quality to their midfield with Mlambo’s signing.
It is yet to be seen how the midfielder will bed into Dlamini’s style of play. Particularly the intensity at which the KZN side want to defend from high up the pitch.
