Young Africans SC Target Kaizer Chiefs Forward Khanyisa Mayo

Kaizer Chiefs on-loan forward Khanyisa Mayo has emerged as a potential target for Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC. The club is looking to strengthen its attacking options after inconsistent performances from their current forwards, despite solid showings in domestic and continental competitions.
Young Africans have been using Andy Boyeli and Prince Dube in the absence of Clement Mzize, who has yet to feature this season due to injury. Together, Boyeli and Dube have contributed four goals so far. The club has identified two primary striking targets, with Mayo positioned as an alternative option should those moves not materialize.
“Depu, Dala and Mayo. These three are targeted by Young Africans. Depu is from Angola, top scorer in COSAFA 2024 and now playing at Radomiak Poland. Gerson Dala plays at Al Wakrah in Qatar. If these two options fail, Khanyisa Mayo becomes the alternative,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.
Sources also highlighted that Young Africans’ interest in Mayo is not new. Before his move from Cape Town City to CR Belouizdad, the Tanzanian club had already shown interest in acquiring his services.
Mayo is currently on loan at Kaizer Chiefs from Algerian side CR Belouizdad, with an option to buy. Since joining Amakhosi, he has scored one goal in six appearances. Young Africans’ pursuit signals the club’s intent to add experience and versatility to their attacking lineup ahead of a demanding season.
The situation will be closely monitored as both Kaizer Chiefs and Young Africans evaluate their transfer strategies, with Mayo’s future potentially shaping the attacking dynamics for both clubs.
