Zakhele Lepasa Labelled as The Striker SuperSport United Needed! The forward has recently joined Matsatsantsa from The Buccaneers.
Zakhele Lepasa joined SuperSport United from Orlando Pirates on a 6-month loan on transfer deadline day. Head coach Gavin Hunt has said that he is the type of player which they needed.
Hunt has always lamented the striking profile at the club. He has previously claimed that they have the same type of player up front.
The tactician was crying out for a number 10.
“We need to get the better balance in terms of strikers, we can’t have four number nines, we need a number 10 type of a striker to balance the strikers, same as wide players, same as covers and centre-backs. We have been a little bit thin in those positions because of injuries.” Hunt told the press
In Lepasa, they have that player. Someone who will play just behind the striker.
“Lepasa has just joined us, and he will settle down very quickly, for me he’s a 10th striker, he’s the one we needed. Hopefully he will get to the right fitness level and fit into the system, get into play, and understand the way we play.
“It’s a good opportunity for him and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
The head coach has been happy with the overall additions that the club has made in his tenure.
“The impact of new players in the team made a huge difference. Thulani Hlatshwayo, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Zakhele Lepasa has just joined us recently but even the younger ones have made a big difference.
“Thapelo Maseko, Neo Rapoo, Grant Margeman obviously joining us this season so we have a consolidated youth and experienced players hopefully the balance will be right.” Hunt added.
