Zakhele Lepasa Signs with Siwelele FC for 2025/26 Season

Former Orlando Pirates striker Zakhele Lepasa has secured a new chapter in his career after signing with Siwelele FC ahead of the 2025/26 season. The 28-year-old forward had been without a club since parting ways with the Buccaneers but kept match fit while training with Bafana Bafana at the African Nation Championship (CHAN).

Siwelele FC confirmed the signing on September 25, 2025, welcoming Lepasa into their squad with an official announcement across their platforms. The club expressed excitement at adding the attacker to their ranks as they continue to strengthen their squad in the Betway Premiership.

Lepasa leaves behind a six-year stint with Orlando Pirates where he made 52 appearances, scoring 15 goals and assisting twice. His time at the Soweto giants was marked by important contributions despite limited opportunities, and his experience is now expected to bring much-needed firepower to Siwelele’s frontline.

The newly promoted Premiership side has been active in the transfer market as they look to stabilize in the top flight. In addition to Lepasa, they secured the services of Kaizer Chiefs duo Happy Mashiane and Samkelo Zwane on loan deals. The arrivals come at a crucial time, with the club currently enduring a seven-match winless run in the league.

Siwelele will hope the new signings can turn their fortunes around quickly, starting with their upcoming clash against Marumo Gallants on Sunday. All eyes will be on Lepasa to see if he can make an immediate impact and help the team secure vital points in their campaign.

For Lepasa, the move offers a chance at a fresh start and an opportunity to re-establish himself as a key player in the domestic league. His proven ability to find the back of the net will be vital as Siwelele push to climb the table and cement their place in the Premiership.
