Zidane’s Real Madrid have now scored over 100 goals
Zidane’s Real Madrid continued their goal-scoring run away from home at the Benito Villamarín and have now scored in all fourteen matches they’ve played away from the Bernabéu in the league. Since the French coach took up the reins, the Whites have scored 35 times away from home in the competition, recording an impressive tally of 11 wins and 3 draws.
Zidane’s first away clash was also a visit to Betis and the first goal on this run came from Benzema. During the time the French coach has been at the club, the highest away goal scorers in the league are Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema, each with seven, followed by Bale who has found the net six times.
After the resounding win against Betis, Real Madrid have now netted 101 official goals under Zidane. Isco’s second goal at the Benito Villamarín allowed the team to reach this milestone. It has only taken them 38 games to reach this figure and the goals are spread across three competitions: 85 in LaLiga, 13 in the Champions League and 3 in the UEFA Super Cup.
These goals now mean that Zidane’s record as Real Madrid manager is 28 wins, 8 draws and 2 defeats whilst winning the Undécima and the third UEFA Super Cup. Furthermore, the record number of goals under the French Manager was Real Madrid 7-1 Celta, during last season.
