Sundowns open 9 point lead at the summit of the psl standings

Mamelodi Sundowns are slowly becoming run away leaders after registering an important 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates in a hotly contested encounter on Wednesday evening.

Amasandawana had a strong start to the encounter after Leonardo Castro struck in just the 19th minute of the game.

Zimbabwean international Khama Billiat then doubled the Brazilians lead with a brilliant goal in the 37th minute.

Orlando Pirates pulled a goal back courtesy of Terence Makola in the 72nd minute but could not find an equaliser as the Bucaneers stayed put on seventh position with 23 points.
