Jomo Sono: Orlando Pirates greatest footballer of all times

Whenever the question of who is the greatest player to ever don the Orlando Pirates jersey is raised, debate is bound to arise but there appears to be a fair measure of consensus that Jomo Sono could perhaps be the best player to put on a Pirates shirt.

Famed for abandoning his wedding to go and help his side win a match, Sono is famed for donning the number 10 jersey. Since Sono’s departure from Pirates the club has struggled to find a number 10 that has been able to match his feats.

Some however argue football has evolved and is more of a team sport, hence making it difficult to draw comparisons from the Sono era to the current.
