Accrording to Soccer Laduma, Vilakazi, 26, has been linked with an exit from Bidvest Wits for over two years, since he managed to claim the Footballer and Player of the Season awards in 2013/14, but up until now his club have managed to keep hold of him.

With Sundowns having lost Bongani Zungu to Portuguese club, Vitoria de Guimaraes, earlier this month, they have stepped up their attempt to land ‘Vila’, and the Siya crew has previously reported that the player had agreed personal terms.
It is thought that Wits have agreed to sell the Bafana Bafana international to Sundowns as part of a cash plus players deal, with the likes of Mogakolodi Ngele, Cuthbert Malajila, Bongi Ntuli and Sibusiso Kumalo all being linked as part of the swap. Although the players earmarked for Braamfontein are yet to agree terms with the Clever Boys.
A source told the crew, “Vilakazi’s move to Sundowns is now about 95% done. As you guys have said before, the player has agreed personal terms. However, the players going the other way are yet to agree terms with Wits.”
