Is Ivan Bukenya really 24 years old?

Determining the age of players is often complex and one player who has sparked debate over their age is Ivan Bukenya.

The Ugandan defender is said to be 24 but many find it hard to believe just by looking at the towering defender. MRI scans are a phenomenon that has been introduced so as to determine the age of players by doing a scan on their bones making such an option perhaps the only way of legitimising one’s date of birth.

Age fraud has  over the years been identified as one of the biggest problems in Africa but whether Bukenya is of the correct age or not only a scan can prove that.

Former Nigerian international player, Adokiye Amiesimaka, once made a claim that a Nigerian under-17 captain, Fortune Chukwudi, was about 25 years old, 9 years older than his documented age.
