South Africa watches from sidelines as CHAN begins

The African continent will this weekend focus on the African Nations championship which kick starts in Rwanda on Saturday.

Disappointingly South Africa will not be part of the African showpiece which caters for players that ply their trade in their respective countries. Bafana Bafana were knocked out in the qualifying rounds after losing to Angola.

While many may underplay the significance of the CHAN tourney, it will be a missed opportunity for Shakes Mashaba who would have wanted to assess players, given Bafana Bafana’s involvement in the Afcon and World cup qualifiers.

While other nations will be vying for their teams South Africa’s attention will however be on the domestic psl where the title race featuring Bidvest Wits, Mamelodi Sundowns, Mpumalanga Black Aces and Kaizer Chiefs is set to continue.
