Lucky Baloyi is a Kaizer Chiefs midfielder. he plays central attacking midfield and sometimes defensive midfield. The 25 year old has been with Amakhosi since 2005 and just recently signed a two year contract extension that will keep him at Naturena till 2019. These are the 10 things you did not know about Lucky ‘sheriff’ Baloyi.
- Baloyi joined Kaizer Chiefs coming from Tshiamo Sports Academy in 2005 and only got promoted to the senior team in 2010.
- Baloyi made 35 appearances for Amakhosi between 2010 and 2014 and only scored 4 goals.
- Baloyi joined Moroka Swallows on loan from Kaizer Chiefs and went on to be captain till Moroka Swallows was relegared in 2015 and went back to Kaizer Chiefs.
- In 2015 Lucky Baloyi had a court case against Laduma for running an article on word that it was an interview with Baloyi. The case was won by Baloyi and Laduma was ordered to apologize to Baloyi and Kaizer Chiefs for spreading false news about the player and his contract with Kaizer Chiefs.
- Although Baloyi represented National Under 20, Baloyi is still yet to get a call for Bafana Bafana.
- Baloyi’s favorite player is Maritzburg captain Kurt Lentjies who he says plays simple football. Overseas Baloyi’s favorite player is England retired captain Steven Gerard.
