10 Things You Don’t Know About Morgan Gould

One of the matured and hard working defenders in the PSL is Morgan Gould. Strikers know that you do not try be smart and play shoe shine football or else you will soon be lying on the ground after a great Gould tackle. A man of few words and very soft-spoken is Gould. These are the 10 things you don’t know about Morgan Gould.

  1. He is the son of late former Kaizer Chiefs and Penarol player Samuel Goodenough Nkomo.
  2. There has been speculations that Morgan will change his surname to that of his father Nkomo. However, Morgan is still using the surname Gould.
  3. Gould, was born in Soweto, Gould began his senior career with Jomo Cosmos in 2001, before moving to Supersport United in 2008. He signed for Kaizer Chiefs in May 2012. Gould was signed to Chiefs in July 2012 for R8,4 million.
  4. Gould made his international debut for Bafana Bafana in 2008, and was a squad member at the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup.
  5. In 2013, while Gould was playing at Kaizer Chiefs, he was charged by PSL Disciplinary Committee for assault. Gould punched Wits player Getaneh Kebede in a PSL encounter. Chiefs won the game 2-1. Gould was fined R100 000 for the charge.
  6. In July 2016, Gould made his return to Supersport United, to be reunited with his former Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter. He made his first start in a league match of the PSL Absa Premiership 2016/2017 season, in a 1-0 loss to Platinum Stars.
  7. In 2009 Gould was honoured as the PSL Footballer of the year.
  8. Gould, has an NGO he runs off the field and that is how he is a good humanitarian. Morgan Gould has followed in the footsteps of many established current and former PSL players who have created foundations using sport as a vessel to bring about social change.
