Kaizer Chiefs spurn chance to close gap on log leaders
Kaizer Chiefs missed out on an opportunity to narrow the gap on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Polokwane City on Tuesday evening.
Amakhosi were sent into silence in the 31st minute when Thobani Mncwangosent the visitors ahead. It however only took 5 minutes for the hosts to find a much needed equaliser that came courtesy of Erick Mathoho but it took only 5 minutes for the hosts t found the target in the 36th minute.
Despite several attempts by the glamour boys to find a much needed winner Chiefs and Polokwane settled for a draw as the encounter ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
The draw left Kaizer Chiefs rooted in third place with 39 points seven less than Mamelodi Sundowns who top the standings with 46 points.
