Ernst Middendorp Sudden Departure from Swallows FC Explained! The German coach left The Dube Birds last week.

Ernst Middendorp resigned from Swallows FC with immediate effect a week ago. Some media speculation has attempted to explain the reasons behind his sudden departure.

Middendorp was appointed as head coach of The Dube Birds in December 2022, after the conclusion of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Yet, within three months he has left his post.

His last match was the 4-1 hammering at home to Orlando Pirates, with Monnapule Saleng scoring a hattrick. Reports suggest that he didn’t see eye to eye with the dressing room after that defeat.

“It was really bad and no wonder he just left the club,” an insider revealed to Phakaaathi.

“That guy (Middendorp) was not on good terms with the players, they didn’t like him because he was always shouting and demanding unnecessary things. He lost his relationship with some players because of that.

“I think he just lacks man management, but otherwise he is a good coach.”

“I know a lot of guys are happy that he is gone, they just couldn’t stand him, especially inexperienced players. They have never dealt with a coach like him, and they were finding it difficult to adapt.” The source spoke.
